‘Best time to discuss FATF’s neocolonial roots when state setting up Taliban govt,’ say nation’s leftists

SURKHABAD – There has never been a better time to discuss the neo-imperial and neocolonial foundations of the counterterror watchdog Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the nation’s leftists reiterated over the weekend.

They maintained that a time when the state is working to setup a Taliban government in the neighbourhood, both government and opposition are highlighting Osama bin Laden’s credentials of martyrdom, and the military establishment is regurgitating its jihadist doctrine, is the most opportune moment to remind the masses that the organisation questioning loopholes in counterterror measures is actually working at the behest of global powers, most notably the United States, to coerce this state of ours into taking action against terrorists.

“The coercion is against nourishing an existential terror threat has taken tens of thousands of lives in our country. The coercion is to ensure that we follow a policy that we shouldn’t need to be coerced into. But coercion it is,” the nation’s leftists informed masses all too willing to listen to ideas that substantiate counter-jihadist measures as a global, not a national, agenda.

“Now let’s dissect postcolonial theories to substantiate our thesis, beginning with dependency th…,” continued the leftists, now losing the attention of the nation.

The nation’s leftists further reminded the masses that any policy is by default wrong if it is peddled by the US.

“But wrong in the leftist paradigm not the rightist. Yes, they too believe that everything coming from the US or West is wrong, but they quote different infallible scriptures and adhere to other unquestionable figures,” they added.

Coming back to the point, which took them some time to do, the nation’s leftists further reiterated that while the state is back to deliberating whether or not Osama bin Laden was a martyr, it is time the global left goes back to deliberating whether Osama bin Laden was a freedom fighter or not.

“We often talk about how the US portrayed Bin Laden as a revolutionary fighting the Soviets, but we no longer talk about how many of us and our ideological predecessors touted Bin Laden, al-Qaeda and Taliban as freedom fighters just because they were fighting the US,” the nation’s left said.

“It is time to rekindle that narrative.”
