Publicly stating defence chiefs’ official chain-of-command deemed violation of Official Secrets Act

Publicly stating the official chain-of-command of the three chiefs of the defence services is now a violation of the Official Secrets Act, a closer reading of the legislation reveals.

“Yes, from now on, pointing out how the defence chiefs have to liaise with the federal secretary of the defence division if they want to meet the federal defence minister, is a crime,” said former PM, former National Assembly Speaker and honorary Subedar Major Raja Pervez Ashraf. “Even if somethings are the truth, they should not be stated for National Interest.”

“In fact, specially if they are true.”
