KYIV: The inspiration levels of a Ukrainian video on CNN.com immediately plummeted while this report is being filed after visuals of a slingshot emerged.
“Oh my God, that’s what true heroism looks like,” said Martha Anderson, Mayor of the town of Littleton in New Jersey, moments before the slingshot emerged.
“Hey… is that… is that… actually… Ukraine…,” asked a bewildered Anderson, after seeing the tone of the video in a different light.
Her views were echoed by Fred Smith, an anchor at a local CNN affiliate network in Philadelphia.
“That’s some good, old fashioned resistance there. They may be Ukrainians…but that spirit is all American, I tell you,” he said, before muttering to himself on air. “… or… Pales…?”
Till the filing of this press report, the general reception of the video had changed.
“You know, these guys could just talk — yes, talk — to the men in the tanks,” said Shiela Philips, anchor at another local CNN affiliate channel in Ohio.
“Such confrontation only serves to escalate things.”
