Air chief’s home village retrospectively declared Forward Operating Base

Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmed Babar’s home village of Sidh, Gujrat was retrospectively declared a forward operating base on Tuesday and his much criticised helicopter visit therefore converted into an official trip.

One Group Captain and two Wing Commanders from the Admin branch executed the successful redesignation, read an air-force press release.

The press release said that now the baton had been passed over to the country’s civilian leadership to handle the issue.

“All those criticising the air chief’s visit to the FOB are basically operating on an Indian agenda,” said information minister Fawad Chaudhry. “Why else would they criticise the Air Chief Marshall’s visit to a base to inspect the state of affairs there?”

A list of social media accounts that had spoke about the incident, including those who defended the air chief, has already been compiled at the Ministry of Ministries.
