Honda successfully sells 150,000 Civic units in Pakistan despite hiccups with Civic Turbo

KARACHI: The Honda Civic has always had a premium outlook compared to its cutthroat competitor, the Toyota Corolla.

While one appears as a furious beast of a car, the other is famous for its reliability on the road. But despite the claims, more and more people are shifting towards Civic for reasons which include, it not being a local Taxi.

Despite the eye-watering numbers of the ninth generation Honda Civic sold in Pakistan, it was considered a failure. However Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited (HAPCL) proudly announced the cumulative sale of more than 150,000 Honda Civic units in Pakistan, this week.

Honda has reported its official production and sales figures of the Civic and City together, making it hard to assess individual sales performance. However, compared to the sales figures from the period of July-August 2016 (5,295 units) with July-August 2017 (7,766 units), it suggests that the Civic has been well received when, for the same periods in both years, Toyota has maintained a steady number of around 8,500 units of the Corolla.

The main contributor in this achievement is brand’s persistent quality in all its models. All new Honda Civic has set a high benchmark with its innovative features and futuristic design. Honda Civic has been well-accepted by Pakistani customer since the first launch in 1994.

The latest 10th generation Civic was recently launched in 2016 with a package of innovation, class, technology and design. It represents one of the most comprehensive and ambitious new model developments ever undertaken by Honda, requiring an unprecedented commitment of R&D resources and Honda engineering prowess.

The success of the Civic over the years has led to the organic growth of passionate and dedicated customers. Honda has always produced superior quality automobiles with excellent fuel efficiency and performance.
