Govt to test 5-G service soon: Ahsan Iqbal

 

ISLAMABAD: Minster for Interior, Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday said that after the successful launch of third and fourth generation technology in Pakistan, the government would test 5G service soon in the country.

Chairing a meeting on Digital Pakistan here, the minister said today was the century of knowledge and innovations and only those nations were progressing well who were equipping themselves with the weapons of knowledge and technology.

In most of the time during last 70 years, Pakistan remained victim of political anarchy due to which Pakistan could not progress of fast track in the areas of economy, science and technology, he said, adding that the incumbent government determined its priority list and took a number of revolutionary steps to ensure economic stability in the country.

Under Vision 2025, the minister said that the government was endeavouring to achieve targets of progress in the fields of technology and human resource development in collaboration the private sector.

He said the government was also establishing centres of excellence in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, big data, cloud computing and robots. He said the digital Pakistan was aimed at equipping young generation with modern technology to ensure its effective usage. He said due to the provision of 3-G and 4-G service, Pakistan had become the fourth largest freelancing country.
