PIA launches direct flights from Lahore to Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok

LAHORE: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has launched its direct flights from Lahore to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. The first flight (PK896) left for Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok in the early hours of Monday.

It was learnt that direct route between Lahore and Kuala Lumpur resumed after a gap of two years and that PIA used its Boeing 777 aircraft for these flights.

PIA President and CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik, in his message on the commencement of the flights, said that the national flag carrier would provide direct travel access to passengers so that the problems faced by them through connecting flights could be minimized.

He said that PIA would resume flights on those routes that were profitable for the national carrier, adding that the airline was also planning to open new profitable destination upon the arrival of new airplanes in its fleet.

The passengers and business community lauded the resumption of these flights and assured their full support for the successful operation.

PIA District Manager Omer Nawaz Goraya, Deputy Station Manager Amir Malik, Sales Manager Baber Zaman, Ticket Office Manager Tanveer Qasim saw off the passengers at the Allama Iqbal Airport.
