Pak Suzuki again jacks up car prices

KARACHI: The Pak Suzuki Company has once again enhanced the prices of all its models, excluding Mehran, from Rs30,000 to Rs322,000 from January 1, according to the company’s price list forwarded to the dealers on Tuesday.

The company has forwarded a circular of new prices to its dealers across Pakistan, in which the new ex-factory prices would come into effect from Tuesday. The rates have been increased due to the depreciation of Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar, the notice said.

According to the Pak Suzuki notification, the Wagon R VXR would be available at Rs1.224 million after an increase of Rs40,000, Wagon R VXL would be available at Rs1.314 million after an increase of Rs40,000, the new price of Cultus VXR would be Rs1.410 million after an increase of Rs30,000, Cultus VXL has been priced at Rs1.531 million after an increase of Rs30,000, while Cultus AGS would be available at Rs1.638 million after an increase of Rs30,000.

Among over 1,000cc vehicles, the company has enhanced prices of Swift DXL-NAV to Rs1.555 million after an increase of Rs40,000, Swift AT-NAV has been increased to Rs1.691 million after an increase of Rs40,000, while the new price of APV would be Rs3.040 million after an increase of Rs322,000.

Similarly, Ciaz MT would be available at Rs2.060 million after an increase Rs100,000, and Ciaz AT would be available at Rs2.200 million after an increase of Rs100,000.

Meanwhile, Vitara GLX AT would be available at Rs3.990 million after an increase of Rs100,000 while Vitara JLDX MT would be available at Rs2.393 (unchanged).

Pak Suzuki has already announced that it would discontinue the production of Mehran from March 2019 and plans to introduce locally-manufactured Suzuki Alto 2019 (660cc) in the country.

Pak Suzuki hiked the prices of its vehicle line multiple times in 2018.
