OGRA increases LPG price by Rs2 per kg

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Thursday increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs2 per kilogramme.

According to a notification, the authority has fixed the LPG price at Rs115 per kg. With an increase of Rs23, the domestic cylinder will now be sold for Rs1,361.

The prices of LPG, coal and wood have gone up as zero to low pressure of natural gas in winters has forced many people to turn towards alternative fuel sources to cook meals and warm themselves up.

On Dec 29, Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan had assured to resolve the issue of low gas pressure on a priority basis.

Talking to a delegation of lawmakers hailing from Rawalpindi division at Punjab House, Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that adequate measures were being taken to mitigate sufferings of gas consumers.

On the occasion, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) General Manager Zahoor Muhammad had assured that gas would be provided to all areas in Rawalpindi.
