PepsiCo mulls investing $1bn in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: PepsiCo is planning to invest $1 billion in Pakistan, said company’s Vice President Krista Pilot said Monday.

Talking to Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary in Dubai, she said her company was interested in investing $1 billion in Pakistan’s food sector.

As per a local media report, PepsiCo plans to invest in a potato unit in Multan and the company wants Prime Minister Imran Khan to inaugurate it.

Fawad Chaudhry on the occasion thanked Pilot, saying that investments by the PepsiCo and British Airways would encourage other companies to invest in Pakistan. “It shows they trust the country,” he remarked.

He said the fruits of PM Khan’s vision, policies and reforms agenda would soon become visible, adding that job opportunities would increase with foreign investment in the country.

  1. Ladies and gentlemen, the PM of Pakistan. Imran Khan. Never did I think Pakistan will ever have a PM the country can be proud of. Not tainted like the rest; he is in a comfortable position to take tge country forward. But can we clean the dirt bags left behind as well…put them in a trash compactor or prison.
