ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Engro Corporation Chairman Hussain Dawood, seeking to record his statement in a case pertaining to the ‘illegal’ award of LNG terminal-1 licence to the Elengy Terminal Pakistan Limited (ETPL), Pakistan Today has learnt.
The country’s anti-corruption watchdog is currently engaged in an investigation against former prime minister and former petroleum minister Shahid Khaqqan Abbasi, former petroleum secretary Abid Saeed, Inter-State Gas Systems Pvt Ltd (ISGS) Managing Director Mobin Saulat, former Sui Southern Gas Company Limited managing director Zuhair Ahmed Siddiqui and Engro Pvt Ltd CEO Emranul Haq for their alleged involvement in the award of the LNG contract to ETPL, which is a subsidiary of Engro Corporation.
NAB, in a call-up notice to Hussain Dawood (dated September 30, 2019), has sought information under the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999, and has requested Dawood to appear before NAB Rawalpindi/Islamabad on 8th October.
