Single National Curriculum: bureaucratic error results in students learning all subjects in Ukrainian

ISLAMABAD: As a result of a major bureaucratic mix-up at the Federal Ministry of Education, the Single National Curriculum instituted by the PTI government will now be entirely in Ukrainian.

“Yes, this is an unfortunate mix-up and someone lower on the line than me is taking complete responsibility,” said education minister Shafqat Mehmood. “But all the textbooks have been printed by a printing press that is not (completely) owned by Aleem Khan, as some allege, and it would be very expensive to reprint them all.”

Information minister Shibli Faraz, however, doubled down and refused to admit that a mistake had been made in the first place. “We have much to learn from Ukraine as it has a great education system and people. Prime Minister Imran Khan has, I assume at least once, spoken about the ‘Ukraine Model’ and this is only a natural outcome of that.”

“The Prime Minister’s vow that people from abroad will come to the country for work is coming true, if we were to look at the figures,” said Faraz, referring to the large number of Ukraine nationals applying for visas to fill in the recently created huge demand for instructors.
