ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has assured the people of Punjab that he will be as high as a kite during the Basant festival.
“I am a Lahori and like all Lahoris, enjoy the Basant festival that has been a part of the lives of the people of the north and central Punjab for centuries,” he said.
“Like all Lahoris, I too, was sad that this beautiful tradition was made illegal.”
“My government will make all efforts to revive this tradition. And I will take the lead by being high as a kite,” he said.
“That’s right: a kite. A kite!”
“Now, if all you friends from the press will excuse me,” he said to the only reporter he was addressing, “I need to check Qooba if he’s gotten that Tirah stuff he was telling me about.”
