PML-N should accept defeat of Shehbaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz with open heart: Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz said the party should graciously accept the verdict of the masses in Sunday’s by-elections in Punjab.

Taking to Twitter Maryam said that the PML-N should accept the defeat of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz with an “open heart”.

“The PML-N should take the results of the by-polls with an open heart and accept the decision of the masses against Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz,” Maryam Nawaz tweeted.

She added that winning and losing was part of politics.

“Winning is part of the politics of Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, while losing is the part of politics of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz,” she maintained.

The PML-N vice president claimed the party needed to focus on its weaknesses, identify them, and then overcome them.

“Now that Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz have been identified as the weaknesses, it is time for the PML-N to overcome them and give the leadership to winners, and not losers,” she added.

While Maryam Nawaz was gracious in her acceptance of the defeat of her uncle and cousin, later talking exclusively to The Dependent she claimed that the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and its chief Imran Khan hadn’t actually won.

“Imran Khan hasn’t won. Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz have lost,” she told The Dependent.
