‘I swear IMF hates this govt,’ Miftah reassures nation

ISLAMABAD – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is unhappy with the government over the budget, mainly because they do not like the government, revealed Finance Minister Miftah Ismail Saturday.

Reiterating that much of the displeasure for the government comes because of the stand it claims to have taken, such as not implementing Personal Income Tax (PIT) measures suggested by the Fund, Miftah asked the nation to acknowledge that the government is with the people, and hence not with the IMF.

“I swear the IMF doesn’t like me or this government, which of course is evidence for how much we are doing for the people, who in turn should start liking us to fill the likeness account deficit currently facing this government,” the finance minister said addressing the post-budget news conference at P-Block Auditorium.

Miftah added there was no development on the IMF front at the moment which should also be taken as evidence that it absolutely has no liking for the incumbent government and in fact is increasingly bordering on hatred.

“They hate us for the fact that we are standing with our people. We have told them we cannot do more of which we will eventually end up doing to our people. They hate this about us, about me. Which is why you need you to love us. You need to love me,” Miftah reiterated.

“Love me, love me now,” the finance minister added.
