Toshakhana Details: ex-foreign minister Qureshi retained, sold Chinese deputy foreign minister who had gone to airport to receive him

As per the details emerging from the Toshakhana report, former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi retained, and then sold Chinese deputy foreign minister Ma Zhaoxu who had gone to the Beijing airport to receive him.

“The deputy foreign minister was impeccably well-dressed and (former) foreign minister Qureshi somehow assumed he was a gift,” read the report. “He immediately filed a request to retain him and had already sold him by the time he reached his hotel.”

“It was an unusual request, yes,” said a source in the foreign ministry on the condition of anonymity. “But we in China oblige all our allies and Mr Zhaoxu, being a committed party member, was ready to make the sacrifice.”

According to reports, Ma Zhaoxu was acquired by the foreign ministry of Sierra Leone.

“We’ve got lots lined up, by way of international contracts and really needed a skilled operator like Zhaoxu,” said a source in the Sierra Leonean foreign ministry. “We’re so lucky the Pakistanis seem to want to take and then sell anything and everything.”
